These films are all primarily shot in or about the the outside world. From Bruce Baillie to Caryn Cline to the late Jonas Mekas, we see the prismatic nature of the outside and all its possibility. Whether we are present within it, looking out towards it or refusing to forget it, the outside is ironically necessary to the often introspective nature of experimental cinema. In order to show something, we must first see it.
