Experiments in Digital

Experimental film has always been interested in materiality. These films often explore, augment, and assess the nature of the media that allows for the images to be represented in the way that they are. But in delving into this tradition, we sometimes see an elitism of film (usually 16mm film) as the ideal medium for the experimental and the avant-garde. This program is intended to subvert that notion. An incredible swath of distinctly digital art has appeared since the millennium, particularly with the rise early internet art.
